"When I go to colleges I'm the recruit and I'm used to being the main attention," Slayton said. "I'm over there walking around with a legend and he's getting more attention than I am. Everybody was talking about his stuff. It was cool walking around with him and hearing about all his stories. Some of the coaches played with him so it cool to see them reunite. It was exciting."
Spending time with Auburn coaches Gus Malzahn, Melvin Smith and Charlie Harbison, the 6-2, 182 cornerback said he really enjoyed everything about his time with the Tigers on Saturday and said they are one of the schools at the top of his early list.
"It went well," Slayton said. "I had a good time today getting to meet Coach Malzahn and getting to meet Coach Smith and Coach Cheese. It felt real home-ish. Walking around and looking at the campus, it was a great experience. It felt comfortable. I felt like I could play there potentially in the next couple of years. They are definitely high on my interest list.
Rated the #29 cornerback in the country by Scout.com, Slayton recently visited Georgia and has offers from Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and several others. Still waiting on offers from LSU and South Carolina, Slayton said he plans to take his recruiting through his senior football season before making his decision.
