That return trip came on Friday as Boulware made the drive down with his mother to talk with coaches J.B. Grimes and Rodney Garner and get a feel for how things stand with the Tigers. Getting the news he has been waiting for, the talented guard/tackle said Auburn is definitely now in his top group after adding an offer.
"It was great today," Boulware said. "I really loved it. I really saw the same things from last time. My mom got to see it because she wasn't here last time. I met with the whole coaching staff and I got an offer today.
"It was real exciting," he added of the offer. "I really liked it up there. It was real nice. I was excited to get that offer today."
Now with three Creekside teammates all with Auburn offers and former high school teammate Josh Holsey a defensive back for the Tigers, Boulware said it definitely doesn't hurt Auburn's chances to have an old friend on the Plains to give them an inside feel for what it's like to be part of the program.
"It's pretty cool," Boulware said about Holsey being on the team. "We talk to him from time to time. He just gives us little hints and all that."
Now with a large group of very good schools to choose from and no immediate plans to make a decision, Boulware said he's just going to take his time before making a decision.
"I can't really say yet," he said of his favorites. "I don't really know when I will make a decision."
