Birmingham NFTC: Top LB Performances

HOOVER, Ala. – Scout took in the Birmingham Nike Football Training Camp on Sunday and a few linebacker prospects made their mark in front of evaluators in the process.

The following prospects are listed alphabetically, and only appear because of their performance on Sunday with Scout in attendance. Recruiting standing and/or ranking have nothing to do with the group.

Joshua McMillon, 2015 LB, Memphis (Tenn.) Whitehaven

The four-star is a big linebacker who can move pretty well. May grow into a defensive end due to his size, but he is a backer with good mobility and strength. McMillon took home MVP honors for his efforts on Sunday.

Jeremiah Moon, 2016 OLB, Hoover (Ala.) High

Still on the thin side, but Moon was the top linebacker Sunday. He is an athlete with extremely long arms and great range side to side. The four-star on Scout closed on the shifty backs well and was explosive in pass-rushing drills

Griffin Riggs, 2015 OLB, Auburn (Ala.) High

A linebacker that moved well and showed some athleticism. Riggs took good angles to the ball and showed some aggression and didn't look like he played mostly on the line in high school as he does for the Tigers.

Fred Walls, 2015 OLB, Olive Branch (Miss.) High

The Scout three-star is a little undersized, but aggressive, and showed good pursuit Sunday. Walls closed in on the ball/running backs well in drills.
