First it was Chandler Brewer from the state of Alabama, and now it's Kenny Thomas. He's a 6'6" 315lb Offensive Tackle from Prattville High School (AL), who recently picked up an offer from the Texas State staff.
"It was the first time I ever talked to them. The coaches came up to the school and offered me. The coach came by and talked to me. He said I could earn an opportunity to play as a freshman. He showed me the campus and what it looked like on game days," said Thomas.
Along with Texas State, South Alabama, Middle Tennessee State and Jacksonville State have all offered already. A who's who of programs is also keeping tabs on him: Auburn, Alabama, North Carolina, and Ole Miss. So far this spring, the only real visit he's had is when the took in the Auburn Spring Game.
As has been the case with other recent out of state targets, Texas State's offer to Thomas was a surprise out of left field. A good one none the less.
"It's something that really surprised me. They just told me that they would like to use me as a tackle and dominate. James Sherman said to come up there and give him a call and he'll show me around," said Thomas.
