Davidson ready to get out

Marlon Davidson has added some big offers in recent weeks and he is up to seven now. He is ready to get out this summer to see different places...

"I just haven't been out much yet," said Marlon Davidson. "I wasn't out for visits this spring and I just have not seen many schools yet. I want to this summer."

Davidson knows he will visit Alabama, Auburn, and Georgia in the coming months. The two in-state schools have yet to offer, Georgia recently did.

The 6-foot-3, 258 pound 2016 rush end out of Greenville, Ala. does not know much about UGA yet, but he knows about the coach he would be playing for if he decided to go there.

"Coach [Tracy] Rocker (Defensive line) coached my brother (Kenneth Carter) when he was at Auburn, so I met Coach Rocker back then. He is a great coach and I like him. He came by my school last week and that is when I got the offer. I will be visiting Georgia this summer."

Of course Auburn is a school Davidson is familiar with and he has been on their campus numerous times. He has not heard too much from the Tigers yet.

"I hear from Auburn a little bit, but not too much right now. They have been by the school and I have camped there before, but no offer yet. I have not heard anything about an offer yet. We will see."

"I don't have any favorites right now. I need to get out and take some visits first," said Davidson.

His older brother has helped coach up the rising junior not only on the field, but off the field - He wants him to be successful.

"Kenneth and I are very close and he has helped me a lot," said Davidson. "The biggest thing he has helped me with is my academics. He told me to get on them early and to stay on them. Good grades are important and he has told me that from the beginning."

Offers from Clemson, Kentucky, Louisville, Mississippi State, Southern Alabama, and UAB are in to go with Georgia and others will come. Alabama is showing a lot of interest as is UCLA and Vanderbilt.

There is a lot to like about Davidson; he is athletic, he has good length, and he is explosive to the ball. He plays with confidence too.

"When I see an offensive tackle lined up in front of me, I always feel I can whip him," said Davidson. "I use my speed, I work my hands, and I just look to beatdown the tackles that try to slow me down."

Davidson could play weakside end or outside linebacker on the next level.
