Massive Young OT Turning Heads

Huge and athletic, 2017 offensive tackle D'ante Demery is already turning heads.

Brunswick, Ga.--Even though he'll just be a sophomore next season at Brunswick High School, it's easy to see that D'ante Demery is going to be a player to watch in recruiting circles for the next three years. At 6-6, 305 with good feet and technique for a young offensive tackle, Demery is already getting interest from several of the top programs in the South including Auburn, Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Florida and others.

On Friday, Demery made the drive over to Auburn to participate for the day in a camp with the Tigers. Getting the opportunity to work with Coach J.B. Grimes and improve his skills was something the big sophomore-to-be said was fun for him.

"It was good getting a little work in today," Demery said. "I couldn't do one-on-ones, but it was all good. I got some things done."

Making his second trip to the Plains after camping with the Tigers last summer, Demery said he's already getting a good feel for the program and campus at Auburn and likes what he sees.

"It's nice," Demery said. "They are good people. They are just good people and make you feel like you're at home."

Demery is a massive young offensive lineman

Playing some last season as a freshman after coming back from a meniscus tear in his knee, Demery said he's excited about getting the chance to get on the field this season as a starter.

"I played some after coming back from the injury, Demery said. "I really didn't get to start any. This is supposed to be my big year this coming year.

"I'm just focusing on my footwork and my stamina," he added. "I've got to have some stamina. I'm just working hard to get better."

Hoping to also visit Alabama this summer, Demery said he wants to get to games at several of his favorite schools this fall including Auburn.
