Top Talent Expected For AU Team Camp

24 teams from five different states will be represented at Auburn's first team camp.

One of the first big camp days for the Auburn Tigers takes place on Saturday with the team 7-on-7 and lineman camp on the Plains. With 24 different teams from five different states expected to take part in the day-long camp, Auburn will have a chance to see several top prospects compete in a team setting.

From in-state, teams such as Valley, Athens, Dothan and Jeff Davis will be in for the camp. Valley features prospects such as sleeper Matravious Williams. A talented defensive back with explosive ability, Williams has a chance to make some noise as a senior.

From Athens one of the top players is 2015 linebacker Paxton Schrimsher while 2016 wide receiver Terrance Watkins and young quarterback John Bachus are players to watch. From Dothan the top player is Troy commitment Jarmarkus Sims. Young athlete Tyson Williams is also a player to keep an eye on for the Tigers.

The State of Georgia will be well represented in Auburn as well with several top programs in attendance. Loaded with talent, Mays High will have top 2016 prospects Tobias Little and Randrecous Davis on hand as well as upcoming seniors such as Khalil Brooks, Monquavion Brinson and 6-3 quarterback Ayinde Russell.

Also expected to take part in the camp is McEachern High from Powder Springs. While several of the top prospects aren't expected to be in there is still plenty of talent to watch for including 2015 prospects T.J. Rahming, Chandler Jones and Tyler Woodley as well as 2017 quarterback Bailey Hockman. Taking part in the camp, Columbia High in Decatur, Ga. features a pair of talented 2015 prospects in Clemson commitment Shadell Bell as well as safety Andre Brown.

One of the top programs in the country, Byrnes (S.C.) High won last year's 7-on-7 under the guidance of Bobby Bentley. He's now on the Auburn staff but that doesn't mean Byrnes will take a step back. With 2015 prospects such as wide receiver Tavin Richardson, defensive back Lyrics Klugh, running back Isaiah Hill and Braylin Collins, and 2016 prospects Jaylin Foster, wide receiver Chavis Dawkins and linebacker Ray Miller, Byrnes is loaded once again.

Always a talented team, Lincoln High from Tallahassee, Fla. will be in Auburn and even though John Burt won't be in attendance several more names to know will be on the Plains for the Trojans. Included in that group are 2015 prospects such as linebacker Devin Timmons, linebacker/tight end Camrin Knight and athlete Willis McDaniel.

Rounding out the prospects to watch for the camp is talented wide receiver Christian Philpott from North Florida Christian in Tallahassee. A three-star prospect, Philpott has several big-time offers including Auburn.

Teammate R.J. Harris also a name to remember. The three-star defensive lineman has some early offers and could be a late bloomer in the 2015 class.
