Freshman Receiver Catches Uzomah's Eye

Auburn tight end C.J. Uzomah talks about a newcomer who has been impressive in summer workouts.

oover, Ala.--Myron Burton Jr. is far from the most acclaimed member of the 2014 Auburn football signing class, but he is the guy who has most impressed AU senior tight end C.J. Uzomah.

Burton, who is ranked as a three-star wide receiver from Peachtree Ridge High in Suwanee, Ga., has been on campus all summer working out with his new team.

“I think the main one for me is Myron Burton,” Uzomah said of who has impressed him most from the newcomers.

“He is a Georgia guy like myself. I have kind of talked to him a lot,” Uzomah said at SEC Media Days on Monday. “I have seen his work ethic, which is top-notch, especially coming in as a freshman.

“Saying he wants to make an impact early is always encouraging and seeing the film work that he is trying to get in by himself and he is asking a lot of questions--that is encouraging for me for sure.”

Burton, 6-2, 200, is a player who earned a scholarship offer from the Tigers after performing well at a 2013 AU summer camp. He is the son of former Auburn defensive end Myron Burton.
