It's Auburn--Dynamic 5-Star 2016 WR Picks AU

Big-time class of 2016 wide receiver prospect Nate Craig talks about choosing the Auburn Tigers over Clemson, Ohio State and others.

Tampa, Fla.--Perhaps the top wide receiver prospect in the country for the 2016 signee class, Nate Craig has been high on the Auburn Tigers since getting an offer from Gus Malzahn and company in January. Making a trip back to the Plains over the weekend, Craig decided to bring an early end to his recruiting when he committed to the Tigers on Monday night.

"It was just a decision made by going up there and visiting on A-Day and bringing my family up there to let them see the campus," Craig tells Inside The Auburn Tigers. "We got to sit down with the coaches, Coach (Dameyune) Craig and Coach Malzahn. They made a big impact on my recruiting. Coach Craig recruited me real hard early. He's a great guy and that's a coach you really want to play for."

Since getting his offer from Auburn the Tigers have been very high on the list for Craig. Being able to spend time on the campus already and get a good feel for the coaching staff, he said coming back only showed him that his initial impressions of Auburn were right on target.

“It’s just the love for the coaches,” Craig said of his bond with Auburn. “Once you build that great relationship with the coaches you always feel like you’re at home. When I feel like I’m at home then I keep coming back and keep coming back to visit.

"I just wanted to get more one-on-one time with the coaches," he added. "I just wanted to sit down and talk more football with them. That was a big impact because I actually got to sit down and talk with them and visit the campus more. That just sealed the deal right there."

Choosing Auburn over Alabama, USC, Clemson and Ohio State, Craig said that in the end his growing love for the Tigers was too strong for him to turn away from.

"First off, Coach Craig is a great guy," he said. "He made a big impact on my recruiting. The whole Auburn family, you go around there and it's like a big family. I love the campus and I just looked at my playing time. I knew they had Sammie Coates and more receivers that are juniors and seniors. I know that I can come in and play right away."

With still two years left before he plays college football, there is no doubt that Craig will get the full-court press from college recruiters. While nothing is official until he signs on the dotted line, Craig said he's 100 percent Auburn.

"I'm very confident in my decision," Craig said. "This is my final decision."

Craig is the third commitment for the 2016 class for Auburn. Here is the list. 2016 List
