Spending time with children is something that is near and dear to the heart of Coates after he developed a strong bond with young leukemia patient McKenzie Ray. Supporting her and her family throughout the grind of treatment over the last few years, Coates said getting the opportunity to brighten someone's day is something he never takes for granted.
"it means a lot, reminds me of visiting my little sister," Coates said. "I know how down these kids can get and their families. It means a lot to brighten people's day especially at Christmas time. It's really big."
Frost agreed with Coates, saying the experience is an important one for the players as well as the patients and their families.
"It's really cool," Frost pointed out. "Getting to see the kids and their parents, we love it every time we get to meet people and hopefully they are glad to meet us. I'm so glad I came over today."
