Muschamp At Auburn "Means A Lot" To Holland

Defensive prospect Jeff Holland talks about why Will Muschamp being back at Auburn is big for him.

St. Petersburg, Fla.--A talented linebacker who has the ability to get to the quarterback as an edge rusher, Jeff Holland from Trinity Christian in Jacksonville, Fla., was one of the top defensive players during last week’s Under Armour All-American practices.

Physical at the point of attack, Holland is a player who could play a number of different roles on the next level and he showed that during his all-star week.

“It was great,” Holland said. “I learned a lot of new things and played against some of the best talent in the country. We did some great things out there. We got coached at the highest level. It was fun.”

Already considering Auburn after taking several visits to the Plains over the course of last spring and summer, Holland has a strong relationship with Coach Rodney Garner and the Tigers’ staff. With the addition of new coordinator Will Muschamp to coach Auburn’s defense as well as former Florida assistant coach and Auburn player Travaris Robinson, that relationship has been taken to the next level.

Also considering Florida because of Muschamp’s style of defense and his intensity on the field, Holland said having him coaching the Tigers makes them one of his favorites as he prepares for a busy final month of recruiting.

“It means a lot to me,” Holland said. “I like Coach Muschamp. He’s a pretty good guy. I like the place as well. I feel at home there.

“He’s a great guy and a great coach,” Holland added. “He’s great with his players.”

Planning to make his decision around signing day, Holland is looking at Auburn, Florida, UCLA, Florida State and Virginia Tech.
