Florida Commitment Makes Late Visit to Auburn

Mike Horton, an offensive lineman from Atlanta, checked out the Auburn Tigers by making an official visit over the weekend.

Atlanta, Ga.--Mike Horton, a visitor to Auburn’s Big Cat Weekend last year, returned to the AU campus for an official visit this weekend and the long-time Florida Gator commitment said he liked what he saw.

The 6-4, 304-pound offensive guard said he is still committed to Florida, but noted he is also considering the Tigers.

“I just had a great visit,” he said. “I am going to talk to my mom about it, talk to my coaches and think about it a little bit,” he said.

“I still like Florida a lot,” said the lineman, who pointed out that he will have a final decision on signing day, which is Wednesday. The Semper Fi All-American plans to make his announcement at his high school.

“Auburn is a great school so I am just going to think about it,” he said.

Mike Horton made an official visit to auburn with his mother.

Horton, who pointed out that he has dropped more than 20 pounds since when he visited Auburn for a practice last spring, said that the Tigers are recruiting him as an offensive guard and he likes AU position coach, J.B. Grimes.

“Coach Grimes is full of energy and he is a great guy,” said Horton, who noted that he likes Auburn’s offense. “They are very up-tempo.”
