Joining forces with Carlton Davis, Tim Irvin and Jeremiah Dinson, Javaris Davis gives the Tigers another physical player that could play a number of different roles on the next level in Auburn’s defense. With great coverage skills, he’s expected to get his first look at cornerback, but could also play safety.
Very familiar with Will Muschamp and Travaris Robinson, Davis said having those guys at Auburn was big for him because of the relationship they had dating back to their time at Florida. Throw in their style of play on defense and you have what he believes is a great fit.
“I had a great talk with the coaching staff," Davis said. "(Defensive backs) coach (Travaris) Robinson and coach Muschamp are great mentors and I can see myself playing for them. They said I'll fit in perfectly in the physical style of defense they run and that I'll come in and play as a true freshman."
When you talk about Javarius Davis the first thing that comes to mind is athletic. Making plays on both sides of the ball, he is very capable of playing early because of his footwork and physical nature. With Auburn looking for help right away at the cornerback position, he’s someone to watch for as soon as he gets on campus.
