Big Day For Perry While Visiting Auburn

Talented safety Spencer Perry talks about adding three offers on Saturday, including one from the Auburn Tigers.

Auburn, Ala.--IMG Academy safety Spencer Perry has grown up watching the Auburn Tigers play and dreaming of playing on the Plains. On Saturday he came one step closer to achieving that goal when he got an offer while visiting the campus for an unofficial visit. It was the only offer of the day for the 6-3, 200-pounder, but it was the most important at the time.

“It was a huge day,” Perry said. “I got offered by Auburn, Florida as well as Michigan, all in one day. That’s the huge news. I can’t believe it.

“It’s my dream school,” he added of Auburn. “I love the school. I have been going to campus since I was in the eighth grade and finally for it to happen, I just can’t believe it. It’s just joy, pure joy.”

Spending a lot of time talking with Auburn assistants Will Muschamp and Travaris Robinson, Perry said he learned off the offer from T Rob while on his visit. Getting a chance to sit down and talk with them was a special part of the day for the former Auburn High standout he said.

“T Rob told me about it,” Perry noted. “He said that they had offered me and on film I was what they want. Pretty much we just went through the schemes and things like that and he realized how smart I was understanding what they really wanted to do as far as what they are bringing to the table from Auburn. It’s just great.

“He’s a great defensive mind,” he added of Muschamp. “He’s one of the best. He went through the schemes and it’s amazing. He’s going to change things at Auburn. I know Auburn wasn’t so good at defense last year, but things are going to change very quickly with what they’ve got going on.”

Not planning on making a decision anytime soon, Perry wouldn’t rule out the possibility of a decision at any time saying that it will just be when the time is right.

“I just want to take it slow,” Perry said. “Things are coming in fast now. I’m just going to take everything slow, but Auburn is up there.

“It’s my dream offer,” he added. “I don’t have a leader, but you know what they are going to be in my top three regardless. I love Auburn.”
