Imatorbhebhe Likes Auburn Offense

Big class of 2016 propect Josh Imatorbhebhe talks about his visit to Auburn and what he likes about the Tigers.

Suwanee, Ga.--A physical wide receiver prospect who that could play tight end or H-Back on the next level, Josh Imatorbhebhe from North Gwinnett High is one of a group of 2016 prospects that visited Auburn over the weekend. Spending time with Gus Malzahn, Dameyune Craig and others while on the Plains, Imatorbhebhe said he had a great third trip to see the Tigers.

“I just had a really amazing visit,” Imatorbhebhe said. “I got to interact with the coaches like Coach Craig. I ate with Coach Lashlee. I just like the feel and the atmosphere there. They are very personable, down to earth people. I know my parents and my guardians would be comfortable sending me to a place that would allow me to grow, not just as a football player, but as a man as well.

“Me and Coach Craig talked a lot of ball,” he added. “We talked about different positions and different formations and how he teaches the receivers to know every position on the field, not even just receiver positions but also offensive line positions.”

Imatorbhebhe’s versatility is a strength on offense as he gets ready for his senior season. Expected to take on a much bigger role in 2015, he said watching how Auburn uses players in its offense is something he likes about the Tigers because that is how he sees himself being able to help some team down the road.

“I think that’s huge,” he said. “Nowadays you have defenses that are geared to stopping specific players, but if your offense is already helping you by putting you in a good situation where you have an advantages on the field, I feel like there is nothing better.

“You can have all the talent in the world, but if a defense is geared to stop you then you won’t be able to get the ball. If you come to a place like this they’ll be able to put you in the right situations to be successful.”

More of that success for Auburn’s offense in the coming seasons is expected to come in the passing game with guys like Jeremy Johnson and Sean White waiting in the wings. Imatorbhebhe said he sees big things coming for the Tigers down the road.

“That’s pretty exciting, especially with how fast this offense plays,” he said. “You would have multiple opportunities to get the ball in your hands and make plays and help this team win some football games.”

With his brother headed to Gainesville after signing with the Florida Gators earlier this month, everyone assumes that Imatorbhebhe will be heading that way as well. While they are definitely in the picture, he said for him it’s going to be all about making the right decision for his future and at the moment Auburn is definitely in the hunt.

“I definitely think they are in my top choices,” Imatorbhebhe says of the Tigers. “Especially after the visit that I had.”

Also in the running for the talented receiver are Stanford, Alabama, Ohio State, South Carolina and Arizona State with Imatorbhebhe adding there could be one or two more to add to that group down the road.
