“I was just looking to come and meet Coach (Will) Muschamp and Coach T Rob (Travaris Robinson) and see if we could build a relationship,” Williams said of his trip. “Turns out it was awesome, perfect. They are great coaches.
“They taught me a bunch today that I didn’t even know. When we sat down and watched film it was the same thing we did with Coach (Melvin) Smith the last time, but they showed me a lot of Florida film and the things I would be doing. It was a great visit. I’m glad I came.”
Close to making a commitment while on his trip, Williams said much of the reason why his visit went so well had to do with Muschamp, Robinson and the energy they and the rest of the staff showed on Saturday.
“It was awesome,” Williams said. “They showed me love as soon as I came in. It was just a great visit. I’m glad I came today.
“It was great because they told me things I did good and things I need to work on,” he added. “They are keeping it straight with me and I really appreciate it. They talked to me about positions. They want me at corner, but they said I could play anywhere.”
The trip was one that was much different than Williams’ last visit. Getting to sit down with the staff and interact on a personal level, he said that added so much more for him and was an important part of the day.
“It was very different,” Williams said. “I have a personal relationship with both of the new coaches now. That was my main number one goal and I achieved that. It was great.”
While Williams said he still plans to take his time before making a decision, he admitted that the Tigers made a strong push for him on Saturday and it’s something he will remember for a while, at least until his next visit.
“They are definitely up there,” Williams said of Auburn. “It’s a great school. I love it.
“I’m definitely coming back,” he added. “I don’t know when, but you’ll see me there plenty of times.”
