Broussard Developing Love For Auburn

Four-star defensive back John Broussard made his third trip to Auburn in just over a week on Thursday.

Phenix City, Ala.--One of the top cornerbacks in the 2016 class, John Broussard from Central High, took a return trip to Auburn on Thursday to check out the Tigers and talk with Coach Gus Malzahn, Will Muschamp and the rest of the staff. Already very familiar with the program, he said the frequent visits have given him a good feel for the Tigers.

"I have just grown to love Auburn," Broussard said. "It being so close, me getting over there and getting to know everybody that lives there is just going good."

One of the biggest things for Broussard on his visit was having the opportunity to watch the Tigers in action on the field in spring practice. Getting a feel for what Muschamp’s defense is all about, Broussard said he likes what he sees and hears from him as well as Travaris Robinson.

"It has gone good," Broussard said of getting to know the coaches. "We got to sit down and eat lunch with them Saturday. We got to talk to them and find out a lot about them. All kinds of stuff.

"The way Coach T Rob and Muschamp have the defense I feel like I can come in and fit right in with it. I'm just building my relationship with them since I have seen them so often. I'm talking to them a lot. Just me coming back, I can grow more with them."

Already announcing his decision date of May 7 and choosing between Auburn, Florida State, Kentucky, LSU and Mississippi State, Broussard said for him it’s just a matter of finding the right fit for him both personally and from a football standpoint.

He is planning to visit the Seminoles, Bulldogs and Wildcats in the coming weeks before making his decision.
