“We didn’t have our best stuff today and didn’t have all five of our guys in it early,” said Auburn head coach Nick Clinard. “Ben struggled a little bit, but he is a big-time player and will be there for us the next two days.
“We are still trying to figure out the golf course a little bit,” he added. “We haven’t played a lot of golf in Texas. It is playing faster today and the ball is bouncing a little bit more. You look at the leaderboard and you see a lot of the Texas schools there. We need to do a better job of adapting and get ready for tomorrow.”
Auburn will tee off on No. 10 at 8 a.m. CDT with Louisville and Southeastern Louisiana in Friday's second round. The third and final round is Saturday.
