“It was good,” Devin said. “I’m glad I came and I got to see what I wanted to see. I’m trying to get back up for a game or an official, whichever one. Big Cat Weekend was real good and was fun.
“I have interest so I just wanted to check it out,” he added of Auburn.
Being recruited by Auburn offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee, the 5-11, 195-pounder is a dynamic playmaker that the Tigers are targeting because of his versatility. That’s something Devin said is big for him with the Tigers along with his relationship with Lashlee.
“I like them,” Devin said. “I have been talking to Lashlee for a while not. We have to continue building our relationship and getting to know him. I like the guy.
“The offense is good and Coach Lashlee showed me a lot of ways he could use me and how he could see me in the offense,” he added. “It’s great just getting to see how he wants to use me. It’s great that he showed me that.”
While Devin has interest from all over the country, including an Auburn offer, Donovan has seen his stock rise in recent months as more teams got a look at him during the spring. Being recruited as a cornerback, Donovan said spent time getting to know Coach Travaris Robinson over the weekend and hopes to hear something positive from the Tigers down the road.
“It would be a big one because it would be my first SEC offer,” Donovan said of Auburn. “That’s something I would definitely look into. They’re going to keep looking at me and told me to keep working.”
