“Knowing that I have a home here in Auburn, it feels good, so, with that being said, Auburn is a great school to attend to,” Davidson said. “I decided to come here and chill with my brother, spend time with my brother a little bit before I have to go back to school. I’ll start summer school this year, and I’m trying to get ahead in all of my classes so I can graduate.”
A weekend that is built around the players having fun without the pressure of talking too much about recruiting, Big Cat was a hit with Davidson after he took part in several of the events. That included a high finish in an eating contest.
“Pie-eating contest,” Davidson said of the highlight for him. “That was pretty crazy. I nearly puked out there, but I caught it and I kept going. I came in second place.”
Planning to graduate early in December and enroll early, Davidson’s timeline has sped up in terms of making a decision. Because of that he said he wants to take his official visits to places other than Auburn and Alabama during the season so he can extend his reach of possible destinations. Still wanting to take at least another unofficial visit to Auburn, he said the goal is to begin narrowing things down before his senior season.
“No favorites, but I can tell ya’ll this: in early August, I will be ready to put out my top eight,” Davidson said. “Pretty good chance (Auburn) will be in that.”
