“It was good,” Craig said. “It was very different than a typical visit, you just get to come up and hang out with no pressure. It’s a great opportunity and a great experience.
“It wasn’t uncomfortable at all,” he added. “You always have a home and I feel like I can come up there anytime. That’s very important because most schools you go to, if you decommit it’s kind of awkward because you never know what to expect. I came up and they still respected me and gave me a lot of love. I felt like I was still part of the family.”
Making the visit more of a family feel was the inclusion of his brother on the trip. Adding an offer from Auburn on Thursday, Myers decided to take the visit for Big Cat Weekend as well. Craig said that made the trip a much better one for them both because they got to experience it together.
“It was a very big impact for me because I feel like I’m working hard and he’s pushing me to me better,” Craig said. “When he gets those offers I feel like I’m getting them too. I’m real proud of him because I see all the work he’s putting in and it’s paying off.
“I always wanted him to get up there and get a feel for it,” he added of the visit. “Even when he didn’t have that offer I wanted him to get up and see it, get a feel for the college atmosphere to make him want to go to college. When he came on the visit today I feel like he really enjoyed it.”
With his decision wide open once again, Craig said while he’s not sure where he will wind up Auburn is definitely still very much in the picture.
“Auburn is always going to be top of the line,” Craig said. “They are one of the schools that really came after me first. I’m just going to sit down and talk with my mom and we’ll go from there.”
