Top Juco CB Talks Auburn Visit

JaMarcus King talks about visiting Auburn for Big Cat Weekend.

Mobile, Ala.--The nation’s top junior college cornerback JaMarcus King already had an offer from the Auburn Tigers before taking a visit to the Plains for Big Cat Weekend. Getting to see the campus, talk to the coaches, and get an overall feel for the program, King said Auburn is very high on his list as he begins to try to narrow things down.

“It was my home state and that’s what I like about it,” King said. “They offered me and they’re on top. My high school (Blount), Dameyune Craig is an alumni. He recruited me.”

King quickly backed off his original statement saying the Tigers aren’t on top, but his relationship with Craig and the Auburn coaches definitely has Auburn as one of the teams to beat. Saying he likes Auburn’s coaches out of everybody he deals with, King said getting a chance to sit down with Travaris Robinson was a big deal for him.

“He’s a cool coach and he made me feel like I was at home,” King said of Robinson. “They have three seniors and they are hurt, so they would be in a bad situation playing freshmen this year.”

With his Big Cat visit done, King said he has several more planned and still a few schools on his list as he prepares for his sophomore season in junior college.

“I visit Florida in like two weeks and then Baylor,” King said. “That will be all for right now. Arizona State, Oklahoma and Missouri (are also in there).”
