“I had fun with Coach Malzahn,” Davis said. “We just toured more and saw more of the campus and just talked. I’m interested in building a better relationship with him.”
Talking with Malzahn, Davis got the message that he would have the opportunity to play early for the Tigers if he wound up at Auburn. That would mean playing for Muschamp at linebacker, something he said would be a bonus.
“Coach Muschamp is a great coach and he puts guys in the league like Dante Fowler,” Davis said. “I’m interested in building a better relationship with him too.”
Helping Davis build that relationship is good friend Marlon Davidson. A prospect very familiar with the Tigers because of his brother Kenneth Carter, Davidson knows the ins and outs of the Auburn program, something that would be beneficial to Davis moving forward.
“It would help a lot as far as seeing more of the campus and stuff and with the players and how they react to the coaches,” Davis said of his friendship with Davidson. “It would help a lot.”
Planning to make his decision on or around signing day, Davis said he wants to keep things as open as possible until that point so he can get a feel for how teams play this fall. In the meantime he is planning several more visits over the summer before his senior season begins at Gordo.
