“When I went there I wasn’t looking for an offer, I was just trying to put in work,” Bishop said. “I just wanted to get better and I just stood out to the coaches. I was still surprised. I did what I had to do and he liked it obviously.”
Saying that it’s a “dream come true” to get offers and start the recruiting process, the Auburn offer was the first of several to come through in the last week with powerhouse programs lining up to show him some love.
“That’s pretty big right now,” Bishop said. “Now that the recruiting process has sped up I have a total of 10 offers right now. Florida State, Alabama and Georgia were my latest ones. After I left Auburn on Sunday then that Monday Alabama offered me. Then on Tuesday Georgia offered me. Then I went to Florida State for three days and Coach (Jimbo) Fisher sat down and offered me as an athlete.
“It’s really the life that I have always dreamed of,” he added. “I always wanted to play college football and pictured myself on the big screen. It’s a dream come true.”
While he admits he’s still a very long way from making a decision, Bishop said at the moment Auburn is very much in the picture at the moment because of the relationships he’s already built on the Plains. That was only added to on Saturday when he returned to spend another day around the Tigers.
“Auburn is at the top right now, but I’m going to stay open-minded,” Bishop said. “I like their coaching staff and their personalities and how they recruit you. It’s just a good experience seeing how they work out. I got to watch the freshmen work out. That was a good experience seeing how it would be my first year there.”
