Helping his team to a top four finish out of 40 teams in the seven-on-seven tournament put on by the Tigers, Harris said it was a very important bonding time for the Patriots as they continue to get ready for the 2015 season.
“It was a great experience,” Harris said. “We had a great tournament and I had never seen that in us before. We really stepped it up.
“I learned my teammates are tough and they have more heart than when I was playing my freshman year with the older guys,” he added. “That was good to see.”
Already with offers from Florida State, Louisville, Ole Miss and Air Force early in the process, Harris has always been interested in Auburn. The recent visit allowed him to get another look at the Tigers as well as learn more about new coaches Will Muschamp and Travaris Robinson, something that was important for him.
“It was a great experience,” Harris said. “I loved the atmosphere. I got the chance to talk to a lot of the coaches like Muschamp and T-Rob and (Tim) Horton. It was just a great experience.”
Still waiting on an offer from Auburn, Harris said if and when the time comes it would be another important one for him because of the history and tradition of the program and also because of plenty of family love for the Tigers.
“It would mean a lot,” Harris said. “My whole family basically pulls for Auburn. It would really mean a lot.”
