Young Wide Receiver Picking Up Early Offers

Marlon Williams is a football prospect from Mobile who will be a junior this fall.

Mobile, Ala.--An in-state class of 2017 football prospect has picked up early scholarship offers and is receiving attention from the Auburn Tigers.

Marlon Williams is a 6-0, 188-pound receiver at McGill-Toolen High School, who also plays point guard for the basketball team.

Williams attended a prospect camp at Auburn and said he believes he caught the attention of Dameyune Craig, who coaches the Tigers’ wide receivers. “The camp was real good and I feel like I did some good things out there,” the receiver said.

“The best part was the one-on-ones because I was able to show the coaches what I could do,” he added.

“Coach Craig said I did a good job and he is going to keep recruiting me,” pointed out Williams, who has scholarship offers from Southern Miss, Troy, hometown South Alabama and West Alabama. He is also receiving attention from Alabama, Southern Cal, Georgia Tech and Nevada.

His coaches say that Williams has good speed, in the 4.5 40-yard dash range, and the prospect notes he plans to run track for McGill-Toolen next spring.

Williams is definitely interested in Auburn’s program and said he will probably return to the AU campus for another camp later this summer.
