Auburn Makes A Big Move For Speedy Fils-Aime

Carlin Fils-Aime talks about his first visit to Auburn and why the Tigers are one of the teams to beat for him.

Naples, Fla.--One of the top running back prospects in the country, speedy Carlin Fils-Aime was on the Auburn campus Friday to check out the Tigers. Spending time with Rhett Lashlee and Tim Horton while also getting a feel for the facilities, Fils-Aime said he enjoyed his first look at Auburn.

“It honestly was amazing,” Fils-Aime said. “At first, having been to Miami, I loved Miami. But I will say, I looked at my mom and told her it was competing with Miami. I think this is actually a little bit ahead. The only thing that might hold me back is that it’s away from home, but I don’t think that will be a problem.”

Entering the summer with a top group of Auburn, Georgia, Miami, North Carolina and Tennessee, Fils-Aime said at the moment he’s still in the process of narrowing things down but feels like the Tigers are definitely going to be in the mix.

“For now I don’t really know any of my orders because it’s just the second school I have visited,” Fils-Aime said of Auburn. “But I do know they are really high. They are high on my choices.”

When asked if one team really stood out above the rest Fils-Aime said while it’s still very close the Tigers are in front at the moment.

“I would have to say at the moment Auburn is the favorite,” he added.

A player that should be a good fit for Auburn’s wide open attack, Fils-Aime said he likes what the Tigers do under Malzahn and believes it’s something that would fit him well on the next level.

“Coach Horton and Rhett Lashlee were showing me a lot of film on how their offense works and what plays they run and the O-Line schemes,” Fils-Aime said. “I will say that I liked it. By far it’s one of my favorite offenses. It has a lot of mixtures and it’s very tricky. If you don’t pay attention on the defensive side then the offense will slip past you. I like that. It was really a big plus, the offense.”

With Auburn one of the possibilities for an official visit, Fils-Aime said his goal is to make it to a game at Jordan-Hare Stadium so he can get a true feel for what the atmosphere is like on a game day and what it would feel like to be a part of that.

“I would like to see the atmosphere and how crazy the fans get,” Fils-Aime said. “I would like to hear the noise so if I went there what I would be up against and how crazy it would be. I would definitely like to come there for a game.”

Visiting Georgia on Saturday and taking visits to North Carolina and Tennessee next week, Fils-Aime said he hopes to have a decision by Aug. 1 so he can concentrate on his senior season.
