Juco DB Commitment Talks Official Visit

JaMarcus King talks about his official visit to Auburn and another school he plans to visit.

Prichard, Ala.--Already committed to the Tigers out of Coffeyville Community College in Kansas, four-star cornerback JaMarcus King took his official visit over the weekend to Auburn and left with a very good feeling about his decision. Spending time with Will Muschamp, Travaris Robinson and many of the other coaches, King said all his questions got answered while on the Plains, but there’s still a contender for his signature.

“It went great,” King said of his visit. “They love me there. I like it a lot there. I’m not going to say it sealed the deal, but it did a lot.”

The contender is Florida. A school he followed growing up, the Gators have a commitment from childhood friend and teammate Brandon Autry. That connection has him planning a visit to see Coach Jim McElwain’s program in November, just before he would be enrolling at Auburn as an early graduate.

“I’ll go there on a Thanksgiving visit when they play Florida State,” King said. “Florida is kind of always going to be there.”

Wanting the opportunity to play early, King said that’s one of the things he likes about Auburn because Jonathan Jones, Josh Holsey and transfer Blake Countess are all going to be seniors in 2015. Also playing a big part is his relationship with Coach Travaris Robinson.

“That’s a great relationship and it’s good for me because that’s my DB coach,” King said. “He can always help me with things I need help with. As for the depth situation that’s big because I know I can come in and help the team.”
