“It was my third time being up there,” Armour-Davis said. “Just to be with Coach T-Rob (Travaris Robinson) and Coach (Gus) Malzahn, they’re trying to get me to feel like family and get comfortable around the school.”
One of several underclassmen on hand for the event, Armour-Davis said just being included in things was important for him because it gave him an idea of what to expect moving forward and also because it let him know exactly how much Auburn wants him early in the process.
“I like Coach T-Rob,” Armour-Davis said. “I feel like he’s a guy that can push me throughout my career at Auburn. I feel like they are good as far as academics. It just seems like a good city and a good place to be around for four years.”
Armour-Davis said he’s planning to get back to Auburn for a couple of games this fall to check out the progress of the Tigers on defense. That will give him the opportunity to see plenty of guys he’s very familiar with from the Mobile area like former St. Paul’s standout Tre Williams along with DeShaun Davis and Justin Thornton.
“That’s good for me,” he said of the connections. “With Tre going to St. Paul’s we’re good friends in track season and football season. He gives me good advice, not just on Auburn but for the whole recruiting process. Taking everything in from him is a good help to me.”
