At a recent Auburn camp Bannister was one of the top receivers in attendance as he regularly got open and caught everything in sight. Running precise routes, Bannister earned plenty of praise from Auburn coaches such as Gus Malzahn, Rhett Lashlee and Dameyune Craig for his performance going over the middle during one-on-one situations.
It’s not a surprise to see Bannister performing well considering his bloodlines. The nephew of current Auburn running backs coach Tim Horton, he has football in his genes and showed time and time again why he’s a prospect on the rise for 2017.
“It was a ton of fun,” Bannister said of his Auburn camp experience. “I wound up going against some of the top athletes around. It was a good experience coming from Hoover at the National Select (7 on 7 tournament). Getting to Auburn and being able to go up against those guys and have success was pretty humbling and a pretty fun experience.”

The camp gave Bannister another opportunity to be around a coaching staff and a program that he knows plenty about because of the connection with his uncle. Even though he’s in the same town as the Arkansas Razorbacks Bannister said there’s plenty to like about Auburn.
“I just feel like it’s a family atmosphere and it’s something you would want to be a part of,” Bannister said. “They make you feel like you’re at home. It’s not just something where you’re just coming in and it’s not fun. They make it a fun atmosphere and they’re getting something going there and it makes you want to be part of it.”
Splitting time last season as a sophomore, Bannister had 16 receptions for just over 200 yards.
