Auburn, Ala.--Coming off the first scrimmage of the fall when the defense dominated at Jordan-Hare Stadium, Auburn offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee said he's looking for more intensity out of his group in scrimmage number two this weekend. With some players stepping up their game and other positions needing to do more, Lashlee said the first order of business is to bring the energy.
“I just didn’t like the intensity we showed up with Saturday morning offensively," Lashlee said. "Looking at the film there weren’t a lot of busts. Our starting group and first two groups didn’t turn the ball over and really didn’t have a lot of penalties, we just didn’t finish and sustain drives. We were great on third downs and it was hard to get a lot of momentum going.
"Our defense to me just showed up with a little more intensity that day. The last time that happened was the first spring scrimmage this year. I felt the same way and our guys responded in the second scrimmage. It was good. It got our guys’ attention. They practiced really well these last two days. I expect them to put another good one together tomorrow and try to come back and redeem ourselves on Saturday.”
