Allen, Tex.--One of the top players in the country, five-star offensive tackle Greg Little
Greg Little took an official visit to Auburn over the weekend to check out Gus Malzahn’s Tigers and get a closer look at the program and university. Making the trip with his mother, Little said he enjoyed his time there and especially the fan support for Auburn before and after the game
“It was a good visit,” Little said. “Coach Malzahn is a great guy. I had a blast hanging out with him, Coach (Rhett) Lashlee, and the entire team.
“Even though they lost their spirits were still high,” he added. “They improved from last week. There’s some positive out of everything. Coach Malzahn said just to keep your head up and improve every week.”
The spirits were also high in Jordan-Hare Stadium with the crowd into the game from beginning to end, something that made an impact on Little.
“It was a blast,” Little said. “My mom’s favorite part was the eagle. That was pretty cool. She wanted to pet it, but they wouldn’t let her.
“(Tiger Walk) was pretty cool too,” he added. “Seeing all the energy and the fans up close and person.”
Hosted on his official visit by Deon Mix and Shon Coleman, Little said one of the things that stands out to him was the emphasis on playing young players and the opportunity he could have with the Tigers beginning next season.
“That plays a big role because my goal is to come in and play as a true freshman,” Little said of the potential of Coleman and Avery Young heading to the NFL. “With them being gone there’s definitely a need there so that’s why I like it.
“They are comfortable playing redshirt and true freshmen,” he added. “They don’t feel fear about that. That just makes me more comfortable.”
Saying that Auburn is still in his top five with visits still remaining to Alabama, Georgia, LSU and Ole Miss, Little added that the Tigers are definitely in the picture for him with his decision coming on Nov. 4.
“They are a big factor,” Little said. “I have a couple more visits coming up but they are definitely in the top.”
