College Station, Tex.--Quarterback Sean White, who was a game-time decision for last week’s Ole Miss contest, is not scheduled to start against Texas A&M on Saturday.
"Sean White doesn't look like he will be able to play," said Gus Malzahn, who said that White will only play in an emergency situation. Malzahn said that White has another injury in addition to his knee problem. Jonathan Wallace, a former starter who has been a wide receiver, is the No. 2 quarterback, Malzahn said. Walk-on Tucker Tuberville is the No. 3 quarterback.
"Our team is behind him and he is going to fight his guts out," Malzahn said of Johnson, who lost his starting job after game three.
Jeremy Johnson, who opened the season as a starter for the Auburn football team, is scheduled to play against the Aggies.
Jeremy Johnson is a junior who has five career starts for the Tigers.
Tray Matthews, a starting at safety, is not dressed out for the game. His spot is expected to be handled by Blake Countess and Nick Ruffin.
Auburn, which is 4-4, is trying to break a two-game losing streak.
White, who was injured in overtime vs. Arkansas, played last week against Ole Miss, but was less than full speed. He has started five games has completed 76-125 passes for 1,063 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.
Johnson, who started the first three games, has seen action in seven games with three starts. He has completed 44-75 passes for 517 yards with five touchdowns and six interceptions.
