Redshirt Freshman Jordan Colbert Has Decided To Leave The Auburn Program

Jordan Colbert has decided to transfer out of the Auburn program after redshirting last season.

Goodman, Miss.--A four-star outside linebacker prospect who spent his first season at Auburn on the scout team as a redshirt, 6-3, 230 Jordan Colbert has transferred to Holmes Community College his father Marco Colbert confirmed to Inside The Auburn Tigers on Friday night.

Looking for a freshman start for his football career after practicing as a hybrid safety on the Plains this past season, Colbert decided to go ahead and make the move now so he can go through spring practice and give himself a better chance of earning significant playing time next fall.

Coming out of Griffin, Ga., Colbert chose Auburn over several other colleges and was one of the biggest recruiters for the Tigers in helping put the 2015 class together. Colbert was one of just a handful of true freshman on defense who didn’t play last season including Javaris Davis, Prince Tega Wanogho Jr., Jauntavius Johnson and Richard McBryde.

Colbert’s loss puts even more emphasis on linebacker recruiting for the Tigers with just one commitment at that position in the 2016 class.
