Winter Garden, Fla.--One of the top dual-threat quarterback prospects in the country, four-star Woody Barrett committed to the Auburn Tigers in June and never looked back despite several schools putting the full court press after he had a monster senior season for West Orange High.
At 6-3, 225, Barrett has a strong arm and also the ability to be a weapon running the football.
Now preparing to start his career with the Tigers, Barrett said he’s just looking forward to getting into the offense and making an impact. “We run a similar offense back at West Orange so there’s nothing new, it’s just the signals,” Barrett said. “Once I get that down pat they said I could just come in and be the dual threat and just be me.”
As a senior Barrett threw for 2,018 yards and 20 touchdowns while adding 1,413 yards on the ground and 23 more scores. For his play as a senior he was named the Florida Class 8A Player of the Year. He chose Auburn over Alabama, Ohio State and several other schools.
