Cincinnati, Ohio--Although he is ranked as a four-star defensive end, his primary position in high school, signing day Auburn football commitment Prince Sammons is expected to line up at offensive tackle for the Tigers because of his combination of size and athleticism.
A 6-6 1/2, 280 All-State player at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, Sammons chose the Tigers over Michigan State, Oregon and Duke. He took his final official to Auburn this past weekend and that sealed the deal for the talented lineman.
“Prince really felt at home at Auburn,” said his father Brandon Sammons to Scout. “In the end, he felt the most comfortable there with the coaches and the atmosphere.”
A three-year starter who played both defense and offense, Sammons made 60 tackles with four sacks last season. Sammons, who is originally from Lagos, Nigeria, also played basketball in high school.
Named the Ohio Class V Defensive Player of the Year, Sammons is ranked as the No. 189 overall prospect in the country by Scout and the No. 24 defensive end prospect.
