2018 WR Prospect Amari Burney Talks About Adding An Offer From Auburn

Talented sophomore Amari Burney talks about his trip to Auburn on Monday and adding an offer from the Tigers.

Clearwater, Fla.--Already with offers from Florida and Miami, class of 2018 wide receiver prospect Amari Burney and several Team Florida 7 on 7 teammates made a trip to see the Auburn Tigers on Monday and he left with an offer after spending time with Coach Dameyune Craig and checking out the campus and facilities.

A physical 6-2, 205 sophomore wide receiver who finished with 19 catches for 404 yards on offense and added 91 tackles as a safety on defense last season, Burney said the trip to Auburn was educational and he had a good time getting to know Craig as well as learning more about the Tigers.

“It went good,” Burney said. “We got to see the facilities, the training room, the weight room, that’s about it. I like the coaches at Auburn and the traditions with the War Eagle.

“Coach Craig is a good coach,” he added. “He relates to the players a lot. It was good hanging out with him. I got to spend a couple of hours with him.”

In addition to Craig, Burney said he had a chance to catch up with Auburn freshman wide receiver Ryan Davis as well. Knowing him from nearby St. Petersburg, Burney said it was good to see him again and hang out with him on Monday.

With two years of high school football still left before he has to make a decision on his college future, Burney said for him the only plans are to continue to visit college and learn more about possible destinations. “It’s exciting,” Burney said. “I’m just going to take my time with everything.”
