Phenix City, Ala.--Justyn Ross, a four-star wide receiver prospect for the 2018 football class, made a visit to Auburn this week to check out the Tigers during spring practice.
A recruit who picked up very early offers from Auburn and SEC schools such as Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky and Mississippi State, he said his trip to the Plains was interesting.
“I had a good time watching the team practice,” Ross said. “I liked the seven-on-seven period and the team period. Everything looked good to me.”
Ross, who is a 6-4 1/2, 185 pounder, is finishing his sophomore year at Central High School where he was a deep receiving threat in football and a contributor to the Red Devils’ powerful basketball team.
Asked how recruiting is going, Ross said, “It is going real good, but it is slow because I am a young guy. I am just 16 so I am not going to rush it too much.”
The receiver said his focus is on preparing for the 2016 football season. “I am working on getting bigger, I am working on my hands and on my speed,” he pointed out. “I am just trying to get better.”
