Cornerback Prospect Jackson Says Auburn Is His "Dream School"

Tavyn Jackson talks about his visit to Auburn and interest in the Tigers.

Tallahassee, Fla.-- Tavyn Jackson, a three-star cornerback from Rickards High School, spent the day on the  Auburn campus and came away saying the Tigers are now his favorite.

Jackson watched the Tigers scrimmage and toured the football facilities as well as the campus with his mother.

“It was great,” he said of the visit. “I?loved the campus, I loved the dorms. I ate and talked with the coaches. I love Coach (Wesley) McGriff. It is my dream school.”

Asked why he likes Auburn so much, Jackson said, “It seems like a very family environment--everybody seems close. You don’t go wrong with people who enjoy being around you.”

McGriff, known as Coach Crimedog, is a new member of Gus Malzahn’s staff after making the move to Auburn from the NFL’s New Orleans Saints.

“He is just a cool dude,” Jackson said of McGriff. “He is excited and I like an excited coach. He is good with the players and breaks it down individually for each DB.”

Jackson, who noted that he is 5-10, 169 pounds, said that he will likely be back on the Auburn campus for next Saturday’s A-Day football game. He said that he hopes to spend some time with T.J. Davis, a senior on the Auburn team who is also from Tallahassee.

Noting he has 16 scholarship offers, he said Auburn is the clear number one ahead of Mississippi State, Oregon State and Florida. “I am pretty close at the moment, he said of being ready to make his college pick. Probably this summer, or right before the summer.”
