“It was a great visit,” he said. “The character of the staff members is awesome. I?had a great time, the campus is nice and the dorms are awesome.”
Lingard will begin practice for his junior season at University High in just over two weeks. Before that started he wanted to check out colleges in person and made a trip with stops at Miami, Ohio State and Alabama prior to checking out the Tigers.
“I have been traveling a lot,” he said, noting it is time for him to get back to the weight room and get to work.
Asked about his Auburn visit, the junior said, “I talked about their running back system, obviously their records and how they put themselves in a situation to have guys who can rush for thousands of yards.”
Asked where Auburn stands in his recruiting picture, the running back said, “There is not a leader, but there is a bunch right now and they are in the bunch.”
The prospect also said he may be closing in on making a college choice. Pointing out he is gathering the information he needs, Lingard said, “With all of these great schools coming at me it is pretty close. At crunch time it is going to come down to which one I feel more comfortable with character-wise.”
Commenting on Auburn, he said, “They came to one game, my spring game. I?have a feel for them character-wise they are great people, my people, I would say. I am a people person.”
Asked what makes him such a productive runner, the four-star recruit said, “I would say my high motor and my determination to be in the end zone, and also to be as aggressive as possible.”
