Navarre, Fla.--Since committing to the Auburn Tigers at The Opening in Oregon, four-star offensive lineman Nick Brahms said he has turned to recruiter as he has started talking with other top prospects trying to get them on board with #Ambush17, the hashtag for Auburn’s 2017 recruiting class.
Last weekend Brahms made a visit back to the Plains for the first time since committing to the Tigers. Spending time with guys like K.J. Britt and Jordyn Peters and also working on other players, Brahms said it was great to be back at Auburn.
“It was a lot of fun,” Brahms said. “I started recruiting some guys, put the recruiting hat on. It was a good time.
“It’s cool,” he added. “I get to meet a lot more guys I guess. I’m just building a relationship with them.”
In addition to recruiting other prospects, Brahms enjoyed getting the chance to hang out with some of his fellow commitments such as Malcolm Askew and Austin Troxell. He said that was important to him because those are the guys he will be with for the next four or five years on the Auburn campus.
“It was a lot of fun with the coaches and hanging with all of the commits,” Brahms said. “I got to meet Malcolm and Trox and talk to them a little bit more. It was cool.”
Saying that making his commitment earlier in July was “a lot of weight off my shoulders,” Brahms said he is very comfortable with his decision to commit to the Tigers. Focused on his senior season and his prep for Auburn, Brahms said he’s excited to get back this fall to watch a game in Jordan-Hare Stadium.
“I love the people,” Brahms said. “I love the people at Auburn and the coaches and just how close everybody is together.”
