Cordele, Ga.--A class of 2018 prospect who stood out at an Auburn football camp for rising juniors said he shall return for more visits to the AU campus.
“The camp really was basically my first time visiting and it already feels like home,” said Quay Walker, a four-star outside linebacker from Crisp County High School. “I have got to come back.”
A second team All-State performer as a sophomore, the 6-3, 208-pounder showed a lot of athletic ability at the Auburn camp and got the attention of Coach Gus Malzahn’s staff, which has offered him a scholarship.
“The camp went pretty good,” Walker said. “I still have a lot to work on though and I want to come back. I love it at Auburn.”
A prospect with other SEC offers from Georgia, Florida and Mississippi State, Walker noted that he grew up a fan of the Tigers. Asked why, he said, “I like Cam Newton plus I like the family feeling. It’s a big family--I love it.”
A prospect who also plays wide receiver and tight end, Walker said that Auburn is recruiting him to play defense.
