Auburn, Ala.--Currently 4-2 overall and 2-1 in SEC play, the Auburn Tigers take on the Arkansas Razorbacks this weekend at Jordan-Hare Stadium and hit the road next weekend to the State of Mississippi once again with a game against the Rebels that has been set for 6:15 p.m. on either ESPN, ESPN2 or the SEC Network on Oct. 29th at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
Last season Auburn dropped a 27-19 to Ole Miss at home in a game that Sean White threw for 258 yards, but was well behind a 381-yard total put up by Rebel QB Chad Kelly.
This season the Tigers have improved a great deal on defense under the direction of coordinator Kevin Steele as they head into Saturday’s 5 p.m. kickoff against Arkansas. Coach Gus Malzahn said he’s seeing his entire team come together in recent weeks and that’s a good sign as the Tigers prepare for the Razorbacks this weekend.
“We were still trying to figure out our identity early in the season, especially the offense,” Malzahn said. “We had two returning starters up front, we had a new whole group of receivers and new running backs. We do know who we are after six games. We're starting to settle in. Our defense has played very well all year with our defensive coordinator Kevin Steele. They've really taken to him.”
