Oxford, Ala.--One of the top linebacker prospects for the 2017 signee class, 6-0, 232 K.J. Britt will announce his decision on Monday at a 2 p.m. CDT press conference at his high school and choose between Auburn Tigers, Georgia Bulldogs, Mississippi Rebels and Stanford Cardinal.
A physical player, Britt has offers from coast-to-coast, but has narrowed his list down to four colleges that have been on him since early in the recruiting process.
Frequently on the Plains to visit Gus Malzahn’s program and with a strong bond already built with Auburn linebacker coach Travis Williams, Britt is close friends with 2017 Tigers’ linebacker commitment Tadarian Moultry as well so that makes the in-state school perhaps the team to beat heading into selection day.
Georgia is a school that has been in the mix since early in the process because of Kirby Smart. Recruiting Britt for Alabama before making the move to Athens, Smart being with the Bulldogs has put them in the hunt for the big-time linebacker prospect as well.
Recruited by Ole Miss since the spring, Britt made a trip to Oxford for the Alabama game in September and was back on campus this past weekend to see the game vs. Auburn. The need at linebacker is a big reason why Coach Hugh Freeze’s team made the list for the Oxford standout.
Rounding out his top four is Stanford. He made a visit to the West Coast school in October to see the Cardinal play Colorado.
