Oxford, Ala.--Less than a week after committing to the Auburn Tigers, linebacker K.J. Britt and family were on the Plains for an official visit to see a win over Vanderbilt. Making dozens of visits to the campus over the last two years, Britt said being back only reaffirmed his choice to become a Tiger.
“It’s still the same,” Britt said of his feelings for Auburn. “The same people, just a little bit more privileges like going to the coaches houses and stuff. It’s the same things, the same people.
“That’s why I’m committed,” he added. “I wanted the same atmosphere no matter what to the school I was going to commit to. Consistency was the key and that’s why I’m here.”
Adding that Auburn “feels like home,” Britt said the coaches were fired up about his commitment last Monday and when he got to see them in person on his visit they had a simple message for him.
“Let’s get this class rolling,” he said of what the coaches told him. “Let’s get it going.
“They were all telling me that they’re glad I’m going to be here. I’m taking things day-by-day still with high school and getting my grades right. I’m definitely coming.”

Planning to be back in Auburn for the Alabama A&M game in two weeks, Britt said right now he’s focused on finishing up strongly in the classroom and getting ready for the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Football Classic in December. Following that game Britt said he will try to get to Auburn early enough to participate in bowl practices on campus, something he said that he believes will give him a head start heading into his freshman season.
“That’s going to be big,” Britt said. “I’m going to try to show them what I’ve got. I know they know some of the things I can do, but it will be different seeing it on the practice field. Coming down and practicing and doing what I do.”
Between now and then Britt said he’ll focus on being a recruiter for the Tigers and he has some specific targets in mind to join the 2017 class including linebacker Tyler Taylor, safety Devon Hunter, safety C.J. Avery and wide receiver Jeremiah Dinson.”
