A Pair of Auburn Football Players Make the All-SEC Freshman Team

The Southeastern Conference's football coaches have picked a pair of Auburn defenders on the All-SEC Freshman squad.

Marlon Davidson (above) has been in the middle of the defensive action all season.

Auburn, Ala.--A pair of defensive players are Auburn's representatives on the 2016 Coaches All-SEC Freshman Football Team announced on Thursday.

Marlon Davidson, who has started every game for the Tigers at end this season, has been honored along with cornerback Javaris Davis.

Davidson is ninth on the team in total tackles with 35. He has been credited with 2 1/2 quarterback sacks and six tackles for lost yardage.

The former Greenville High star, who is the brother of former Auburn player Kenneth Carter, forced a fumble, recovered a fumble, deflected three passes and contributed six quarterback hurries in 12 games.

Javaris Davis is one of the team's fastest players.

Davis played in every game during the regular season and started four times. He has 32 tackles, including six for lost yardage, and one quarterback sack.

The redshirt freshman from Ed White in Jacksonville, Fla., has two pass interceptions and six deflections.

Davis and Davidson will return to action as the Tigers take on Oklahoma in a game set for Jan 2nd at the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans.
