Augusta, Ga.--A physical defensive tackle that has been on Auburn’s board since taking a visit for Big Cat Weekend last spring, three-star Tyrone Truesdell from Laney High was on the Plains over the weekend for his official visit and left with the Tigers on his mind.
“It was good,” Truesdell said of the visit. “I had a good time with the team and coaches. I like the family vibe I get.”
At 6-2, 330, Truesdell is a space-eater in the middle of a defense. That’s something that makes him an interesting prospect in addition to what he brings off the field, something he heard from the Auburn coaches while on his visit.
“It’s pretty much my personality,” he said. “Also my grades and all that. Pretty much the whole package.”
A player that has been recruited by Auburn dating back to Big Cat Weekend early in 2016, Truesdell said it has been up and down for him but when the Tigers called it was important that he come take another look at the program.
“There a time when it had probably decreased a little,” he said of Auburn’s interest. “It picked back up.
“They’re just looking at things to see how it goes.”
Saying he’s down to Auburn and Florida, Truesdell said he could possibly make a commitment on Monday but that’s up in the air.
