In-State Class of 2018 Defensive End Andres Fox Has Auburn On his Favorites List

Andres Fox visited the Auburn campus to spend time with the AU coaching staff.

Mobile, Ala.--A football prospect who helped his Mobile Christian team reach the AHSAA Class 3A state championship game in December at Jordan-Hare Stadium, defensive end Andres Fox has been picking up scholarship offers along the way.

One of those is from Auburn where he visited as part of a junior day put on by Coach Gus Malzahn and his assistants.

“I love the atmosphere and I?love the coaches,” the 6-4, 231-pound junior said of Auburn, which he lists as an early leader along with Penn State and Mississippi State.

Fox, whose team fell 21-12 to unbeaten Piedmont in the state championship game, was also at Jordan-Hare Stadium in 2016 to watch Auburn play Clemson and LSU last season.

Noting that he enjoyed the junior day on the Plains, he spent time talking to defensive line coach Rodney Garner. “I like him and he is a great coach,” said Fox, who is 16 years old and still growing.

Asked what the best part of his game is, he said, “I?try to do a good job of getting off the edge.”
