Huntsville, Ala.--With the 2017 football recruiting class in the books it’s time to turn the page and for the Auburn Tigers that means focusing on adding to the defensive line in a big way.
One of the players who will get plenty of attention from Coach Rodney Garner is big Malik Langham from Lee High was on the Plains last weekend for a junior day and left with plenty of positive things to say about the Tigers.
“It was good,” the 6-5, 257 Langham said of his visit. “It was a family atmosphere with all of the coaches and the facilities were great.”
Spending time with Garner as well as Coach Tim Horton, who recruits the Huntsville area for Auburn, Langham said they told him he was someone they want to see more of beginning when his team hits the field for spring practice.
“They told me just to keep working hard and stuff like that,” Langham said of the message from the Auburn coaches. “They said they want to see me more in the spring.”
Already with several smaller offers, Langham has picked up Georgia and Ole Miss in recent days to go along with Cincinnati, Troy and others.
As a junior Langham made 70 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, eight sacks, five pass break-ups and two forced fumbles in just 10 games.
