New Orleans, La.--Expected to be one of the top cornerback prospects in Louisiana for the 2019 class, 6-0, 180 Devin Bush already had an offer from Nicholls State before taking a visit to Auburn for a junior day last weekend.
A player already very much on Auburn’s radar following eight interceptions as a sophomore, Bush is someone that Coach Kodi Burns has been keeping an eye on. Finally getting him on campus, Auburn didn’t waste any time giving him the good news.
“It was real big,” Bush said of getting an offer. “It really shows that people watch you, my talent didn’t go to waste.
“I’m really interested in Auburn,” he added. “It’s a big SEC school. They’re defensive backs are real nice. I’ll consider them in my Top 10.”
Something that could work in Auburn’s favor when it comes time for Bush to make a decision in a few years is the fact that the Tigers were the first big school to come calling.
“That’s really important,” Bush said. “I’m truly blessed that they pulled the trigger on me and took that chance to offer me.
“It’s a nice place,” he added of the campus. “Their dorms are nice. I really liked the tour of the weight room and the locker room. It’s beautiful.”
Saying that he definitely plans on getting back to Auburn, Bush said he hopes to visit Florida for a junior day as well and hopes to hear from another SEC school as well down the road.
“I’m really hoping Texas A&M looks my way,” Bush said. “That’s one of my dream schools. Also Alabama, LSU is the home team. It would be a good blessing to get them looking at me.”
